The Mount Airy Neighborhood Association, also known as MANA, was formed by residents of the West Side of Bethlehem in the fall of 2005. The name comes from the late 1800’s, when city dwellers settled here because of the area’s mountainous nature, the fresh air, and the view.
The neighborhood includes businesses and residences from 2nd to Pennsylvania Avenue and lies between Broad Street and the Lehigh river. Over the last few years, several hundred households and individuals have participated in MANA community events and initiatives.
Why a neighborhood association?
- To build and maintain community activities and networks.
- To give us a voice in city planning, traffic concerns, park improvements, school issues and other decisions that affect us (as the South Bethlehem, Edgeboro, Old Rosemont, and Historic Bethlehem Association have done).
